    Aloha,

My name is Wayne Coatney, owner and operator of PYRO WORKS FAB. I have been building modified 4 wheel drives for over 40 year, with my first rig being a 1942 MB with a 283 SBC back in the mid 1960's when I was 14 years old. This was around the same time my family moved from South Lake Tahoe to Lanikai, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. In 1971 we moved to the Kona side of The Big Island, I have lived most of my life here in Kona, with a few years in the Bay Area, L.A., Maui and Kauai each, wheeling the trails everywhere I went. I have done extensive traveling in the winter months also going to many different snow skiing areas. Thoughout all the years, I have always had at least a few modified 4x4's to play with, all and all, I have owned at least 80 different 4 wheel drive rigs. I supported myself as a commercial welder/fabricator and constrution project manager for high end estates.  In 1997 I started competing in the Rock Crawling and Top Truck events, with some of my favorite times being the winning the Hawaii Top Truck Challenge 2 years in a row (2001/2002). At that point I started being asked to work on other peoples trucks which I turned into a full time "job", which it doesn't really seem like because I like doing it so much. Now I have a few arces of land with a 4x4 shop about 100 yards from my house in the rainforrest on the beautiful island of Hawaii, and 15 minutes away are some of the best rock crawling areas you will ever find, on the old volcanic lava flows. Life's good when you like what your doing. And that's basically me,,,,,,,,,,,,if you would like any help with your 4x4 projects, I would be happy to help.

    Aloha, Wayne Coatney
